Be a part of a culture that doesn't just wait for change but actively creates it—where your skills and values drive our collective progress and impact.The Director/Senior Director, Strategic Pricing will lead the creation and execution of pricing and contracting strategies for in-line and launch products, as well as serve as a key player to analyze the potential impact of and recommend mitigation strategies for any Federal policy changes impacting pharmaceutical pricing.This role will require a strong understanding of the current healthcare ecosystem with extra focus on financial implications to all stakeholders. The role will collaborate actively with Market Access Leadership, Account Management, Brand Leadership, Trade & Channel Strategy, Finance, Legal and 3rd Party Vendors to determine the appropriate pricing approach to support go-to-market strategies as well as KPIs and approach to measurement of effectiveness.Responsibilities:
Execute strategic contracting options to optimize the net profitability of individual brands and the portfolio of company products across all market segments. Ensure that strategies are integrated into and aligned with brand profitability objectives.
Lead the development and execution of pricing go-to-market strategies for key assets in development and any assets added through business development.
Provide key insights related to Market Access and Pricing related to the evaluation of assets considered through business development.
Lead the collaboration with brand teams and key cross-functional stakeholders to create product specific pricing and contracting strategies and manage all activities relating to senior management approval and tactical implementation of these strategies.
Monitor the success of pricing and contracting strategies through defined performance measurement techniques and adapt strategies as needed.
Develop strong relationships with counterparts in account management, brand, business development and life cycle management, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
Develop presentations for leadership review and guide the preparation of requisite financial documentation to achieve cross company approval of strategic pricing and contracting decisions.
Lead relationships with key 3rd Party Vendors related to market research (payer, physician, patient) as well as manage relationship with key data and operational vendors.
Evaluate Federal policy changes related to Medicare, Medicaid, 340B and any other areas impacting pharmaceutical pricing. Drive execution of any potential pricing adjustments related to BHC policy changes.
Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations, state and federal laws, and Bausch Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or other critical thinking major; advanced business degree (MBA) or CPA preferred.
10+ year’s experience in the US pharmaceutical industry with an emphasis in finance or strategic/product functions with a minimum of 7 years in pricing or contracting strongly preferred; experience in contract negotiation, contract development, or account management desirable. Both US and Global pricing experience highly preferred.
Clear, implementable understanding of health economics, financial analysis and return on investment.
Understanding of Government pricing calculations strongly preferred.
Strong ability to lead others in a matrixed environment; applies appropriate interpersonal styles and communications methods to influence and build effective relationships with business partners (e.g., peers, functional partners, external vendors and alliance partners).
Analyzes and uses qualitative and quantitative data and incorporates understanding into decision criteria.
Able to effectively manage competing priorities with strong sense of urgency.
Understands and utilizes economic, financial, and industrial data to accurately diagnose business strengths and weaknesses, as well as able to analyze and act on threats and business opportunities.
