This individual will work closely with our clinical staff regarding patient nutrition needs or requirements and use this knowledge to cater to specific patient requests and needs all the while keeping meals nutritious and satisfactory.Responsibilities
Maintains accurate and current information for each patient on assigned unit(s).
Demonstrates knowledge of modified diets, proper condiments and related restrictions for diets based upon passing a written test provided by clinical staff. Reports patients understanding of diet to Dietitian / Diet Technician.
Assists Dietitian with monitoring of patients who are NPO, on liquid diets or need to have intake recorded.
Accurately and effectively adapts to Physician-ordered modified patient diets and ensures an efficient timing of services by providing quality patient customer service.
Assists patients with menu selections and works hand-in-hand with our Food and Nutrition Department with assembling selected meals on trays and with the delivery and pick-up of meal trays.
Communicates any patient/resident related problems to appropriate personnel, in a timely manner.
Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

QualificationsEducation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
Customer service skills
Proficiency with basic computer skills
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs
Strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers
Exceptional focus on teamwork
Dedication to ongoing education
Ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care based on a strong sense of patient focus
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Food service experience
