Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association required
Preferred:
GED or High School Diploma
At least one (1) year experience as an Orderly or Transporter with health care background.
Scheduling Requirements
Status: Full Time: 37.5 hrs.
Shift: Day
Monday-Friday
Essential Functions:
Always demonstrates an awareness and understanding of patient s needs for comfort and safety; follows through accurately to provide patients with comfort and safety
Always reports to the Nurse Manager or RN any changes in status, patient complaints, or other pertinent information regarding the condition of patient
As required, orders supplies as needs, maintaining a cost-conscious attitude; regularly inventories to ensure supplies are always on hand
Consistently completed all work assignments by the end of the shift
Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics and patient safety in transporting patients from bed to stretcher, and assisting in transferring from stretcher to OR table
Properly orients new personnel when requested
Regularly assists in maintaining a healthy, clean and safe environment for the patients and staff
Takes OR schedule for printing and distributes to various departments throughout the institution
