To put it simply we want our people to thrive and love the work they do.The purpose of the Senior Member Communications Specialist is to collaborate with Partners and internal teams to ensure that all transactional and compliance communications to Members and Employers meet regulatory standards, reflect our tone of voice, and support our business strategy. This role also proactively manages change, resolves issues, and oversees ad-hoc compliance mailings to ensure robust, Super Simple communication processes. Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities Team Member Obligations Collaborate with your manager to shape the strategic vision and set clear objectives for the communications team.Act as an internal advocate by communicating the team’s priorities, initiatives, and milestones to colleagues, corporate teams, and external partners. Monitor industry trends, emerging challenges, and new opportunities to keep communication strategies innovative and competitive. Support efficient team operations by monitoring quality, service, and resource use to meet cost-effectiveness targets. Enhance team excellence by participating in talent development, supporting training initiatives, and engaging in succession planning. Track performance against objectives, recommend improvements, and work with leadership to optimize team output. Aid in critical decision-making through analysis of complex communication challenges and proposing strategic solutions, including during crisis managementTransactional Correspondence Oversee the end-to-end process for transactional communication (across print, email, SMS, and additional channels) to ensure our messaging aligns with Rest’s communication standards, tone of voice, and Super Simple ambitions. Maintain and update the correspondence register while driving regular reviews and rationalizing letter content to promote digital options. Collaborate with MUFG counterparts on reporting, reconciliations, and exception management to ensure streamlined communication processes. Represent the Service in member compliance documentation and forums, ensuring that external communications meet regulatory and internal standards. Work closely with your manager to set priorities and align the transactional correspondence strategy with overall service goals. Ad Hoc Mailings (e.g., SENs & Notices)  Engage early with project teams responsible for developing ad hoc mailings to ensure that all initiatives are aligned with Rest’s service strategy and the Super Simple ambitions. Critically assess and challenge the processes used to generate input data, ensuring robustness and informed decision-making. Facilitate proactive discussions with subject matter experts (SMEs) to address potential gaps or opportunities in communication strategy. Approve and validate test plans from projects to proactively prevent compliance incidents and service disruptions, such as unplanned volume spikes. Act as the representative for Service in executing member compliance documentation and in forums, ensuring that ad hoc communications uphold our standards and regulatory requirements. Report directly to your manager on the progress, challenges, and strategic outcomes related to ad hoc mailing initiatives. Project Management of Communication Programs Lead communications initiatives from conception to completion, ensuring campaigns and projects are strategically structured to maximise impact, meet deadlines, adhere to budgets, and maintain high quality. Develop and implement best-practice project workflows that align with overall business communication goals. Prepare and manage detailed project cost estimates in support of funding requests, ensuring transparent budgeting and fiscal responsibility. Monitor and report on project spending relative to planned budgets, ensuring that each communications initiative meets financial targets while delivering strategic value. Proactively engage with key stakeholders—such as sponsors, business owners, affected business units, and external partners—to ensure communications strategies align with organisational priorities. Facilitate clear communication channels among all parties, negotiating priorities and managing expectations to secure buy-in and support for communication projects. Collaborate with external vendors and partners to develop and deliver compelling communication solutions that align with overall project timelines and organizational standards. Ensure that vendor contributions are seamlessly integrated into the broader communication strategy, with an emphasis on quality, cost-effectiveness, and risk mitigation. Identify, document, and proactively address risks and issues that may affect communications efforts, leveraging established frameworks to devise effective mitigation strategies. Maintain ongoing oversight of potential obstacles and communicate solutions effectively to ensure continuous project progress and message consistency.
