Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed $28.53 per hour5 PositionsAbout usSituated on a unique vantage point with breath taking views over Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables Mountain range, Mercure Queenstown Resort offers 148 guests rooms, two restaurants, a lounge bar and conference facilities.  We are growing our diverse team and are looking for a Room Attendant-Self Checker to join our Housekeeping team. About the role The Room Attendant–Self Checker plays a key role in ensuring a seamless guest experience by maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and presentation standards in guest rooms and public areas.  The position is responsible for inspecting and ensuring that their assigned rooms, meet hotel quality and standards before reporting them as guest-ready.  The Room Attendant-Self Checker will uphold hotel standards by being a role model in cleanliness, efficiency and guest service. Key responsibilities include:Clean and service guest rooms, storage areas and corridors efficiently, while adhering to hotel cleanliness standards and brand expectations.  This includes, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets and cleaning curtains and upholstered furniture as well as dusting and polishing furniture, fixtures and fittings.     Ensure proper bed making techniques and presentation of guest rooms, including attention to details with room setup.Conduct a self-inspection of each assigned room to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to the highest standard and follow up on any touch ups needed, before marking the room as ready. Ensure guest amenities, linen and supplies as well as advertising material, in bedrooms and bathrooms, are replenished to the correct standards for the room type.Remove rubbish from guest rooms and public areas, empty garbage bins and take contents to waste collection area for removal. Promptly report any maintenance issues, damaged items or missing amenities to the Housekeeping Supervisor.Assist with daily room allocations.Report any lost property following the correct procedure.Carry out deep cleaning tasks and special housekeeping projects as assigned.Ensure guest laundry is handled in line with Hotel policy.Use and clean equipment with care, reporting any defective equipment as set down in procedures manual and ensure that all department equipment is maintained to a high standard.Assist with regular equipment stocktaking.Ensure the security of keys and guest rooms at all times, by adherence to security procedures.Report any suspicious persons or items to Supervisor.Follow all health, safety and hygiene protocols, including the correct use of cleaning chemicals and PPE.
