As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.The Ore Preparation team supports our Bulk Berth Sinter Plant and the Raw Materials Handling Area at our Port Kembla manufacturing facility. The Raw Materials required for the smelting process within the Sinter Plant are imported by ship, road and rail. At BlueScope’s discharge berths in Port Kembla harbour, these materials are unloaded from vessels The Senior Operations Leader ensures the effective and safe operations and logistical coordination in this area.In this essential role, you’ll manage a multi-disciplined team, ensuring a focus on the delivery of exceptional performance - managing the Raw Material logistics plan, along with the coordination and commissioning of scheduled plant shutdowns, yard management, and ship discharges. You’ll lead and manage the team’s success through their performance and productivity to ensure our business plan objectives and targets are continually met.What Will You Do?Supporting the Operations Manager, you’ll lead and support your team whilst building effective relationships, both internally and externally. You will also:oversee the Raw Material Supply Chain Plan including shipping and bed building requirements, ensuring the quality and cost effectivenessstrive for continuous improvements and manufacturing excellence in the production/supply/support of Ore Preparationcoordinate closely with Ironmaking Inventory Engineer and Bulk Berth Senior Team Leader so that ship discharge plans and bed building plans are well understood and correctly executed by the teamoversee major contracts related to the execution of material movementcoaching, mentoring and developing the team to enhance capabilitiesMore About YouAs an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, you’ll demonstrate a willingness to lead and develop others in order to achieve team success.
