Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Log Cabin Restoration Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in restoring and preserving historic or modern log cabins, ensuring their structural integrity and aesthetic charm. This role requires expertise in traditional woodworking techniques, a passion for craftsmanship, and a commitment to maintaining the unique character of log structures.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess the condition of log cabins, identifying damage, rot, or structural issues.
Perform log replacement, chinking, and caulking using traditional and modern methods.
Restore log cabins via media blasting, sanding staining and painting.
Repair or rebuild foundations, roofs, and other structural components as needed.
Collaborate with clients or project managers to meet restoration goals and timelines.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and local building codes.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in log cabin restoration, carpentry, painting, media blasting.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment.
Knowledge of log construction techniques, wood preservation, and weatherproofing.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team on-site.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred).
Certification in carpentry or historic preservation is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Compensation:
Competitive salary based on experience (Specify range if applicable, e.g., $25–$40/hour or $50,000–$70,000/year.)
