Role Overview
Vermont Mechanical is seeking a skilled and motivated Healthcare-focused Piping Foreman to lead complex piping installations on healthcare projects. This role demands technical proficiency, leadership, and organizational insight to ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. The Foreman will be responsible for directing onsite activity, maintaining project momentum, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to drive successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret blueprints and drawings to ensure precise implementation of plumbing systems; coordinate effectively with other trades to ensure integrated systems.
Supervise and mentor onsite personnel, promoting a positive and professional jobsite culture.
Monitor job schedule, manpower allocation, and budget adherence while maintaining a high standard of worksite appearance and safety.
Generate material take-offs and coordinate procurement and delivery logistics.
Oversee the installation of piping systems for water supply, drainage, gas, and mechanical systems.
Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes and safety standards.
Conduct system tests, troubleshoot issues, and prepare the site for inspections and walkthroughs.
Facilitate communication across job sites and with other contractors to support seamless operations.
Maintain site cleanliness, uphold safety policies, and properly care for tools and equipment.
May assist other departments or operate equipment such as forklifts or construction lifts after training.
Qualifications
ASME 6010 Medical Gas Certification (or ability to recertify within 90 days).
Holds a current plumbing license in Vermont or New Hampshire, or can obtain one in NH within 90 days.
Additional certifications preferred: VT Natural Gas or Propane, NH Gas Fitters.
OSHA 10 certification required within 14 days of hire; OSHA 30 strongly preferred for leadership.
High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across VT, NH, and NY.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead, solve problems, and execute technical tasks independently and collaboratively.
Physical capability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in construction environments, including at heights and in variable weather.
