Lochmere Country Club has achieved a 4.5 star rating from Golf Digest. We are a high end public course located in the lakes region of NH. As a key member of Lochmere's maintenance team, the Assistant Superintendent will play an integral role in all aspects of golf course management.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is looking to progress themselves in a career in golf course and turf management. 2024 turf graduates with experience are encouraged apply. Passion for the industry and reliability are a must.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or related field.
1-3 years in a Supervisory role in Golf/Grounds/Athletic field Maintenance and/or Landscaping
Experience Requirements:
Must possess basic computer skills – Word and Excel
Must have a strong passion for the golf business
Must be highly organized and efficient with a high attention to detail
Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Must possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with Toro equipment and Irrigation a plus
Special Requirements:
Valid driver's license
Have or obtain NH pesticide applicators license within 90 days of employment
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
One Weekend day and holidays a must.
Self-motivated and team orientated
Ability to lead crew through daily tasks and projects
Inspect golf facility on a daily basis for safety concerns
Monitor the condition and playability of all 18 holes and practice areas
Instruct and train staff in safe equipment use, proper maintenance, and safe operating procedures
Organize and keep daily records on maintenance procedures, pesticide/fertilizer applications, safety meetings, and staff assignments
Works closely with Superintendent producing and carrying out weekly schedules
Works closely with Superintendent in preparing short-term and long-term agronomic strategies to maintain the golf course
Working knowledge of course renovation and construction will be considered an asset
Participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, irrigation and drainage systems
Works closely with the Superintendent to help provide good morale and a positive work environment
Must possess basic mechanical skills, working closely with Mechanic and Superintendent to maintain and trouble shoot equipment.
Salary: $65,000 - $75000
