This job pays $18 per hour and required working at least on Tuesdays (garbage pickup is usually Wednesday early morning so the person hired needs to be able to work at least an hour Tuesday afternoon or evening to move the garbage bin to the side of the curb OR at like 5am to 7 am on Wednesday mornings. (One or the other not both ) other than that the schedule can be flexible. This job COULD have the hours divided up between more than one applicant if No one applies who would be able to work the full 14 to 24hours per week. Priority and first choice of scheduling will be given to applicants who are available on Tuesday and who would be willing to work mostly afternoon or evening hours.
Looking for someone to be a homecare/pcsp workers for a disabled person in the Nashua area. The person does have one cat. Tasks you would need to do on a regular basis include most household chores type tasks as well as running errands. Once In a while, When medical problems are flairing up or when the client has a recent injury you might need to empty a commode chair or help with cooking and other basic daily type tasks, (they fall sometimes due to a spinal injury that can make their leg sometimes malfunction causing falls, but falls are much less common if they are receiving adequate help, also sometimes making getting all the way to the bathroom a difficulty if their leg is not functioning properly, again though when they have help that is not a problem as often). Officially job tasks cover for also helping the person with bathing and toileting tasks however most of the time the client is able to perform these tasks themselves with the help of assistive devices, however if their device were to break or wear out and they couldnt get a new one shipped quickly enough then assistance might be needed
This person's disability benefits will cover up to 24 hours per week
total between you and the other current homecare worker who currently works 10 hours per week and who will be retiring in July, so essentially it would be 14 hours per week for the next month then up to 24 hours per week ongoing after that ., so if you like the job and do well you could take on more hours once you show you are suited for the job or I could find someone else to take on the other 10 hours. This is a perfect side job for a student or someone who already has a 9 to 5 job but would like to make some extra money you also need to be patient when first starting since organizing things is only a help if the client is still able to access things when you are not there. It would be especially good if you also enjoy cooking and would be willing to help with meal preparation. This is a job that would look great on future resumes. This client did have a long gap where they were not receiving help due to staffing shortages and is still in the process of getting their apartment back in order.
This job does require someone who is physically capable of doing the tasks, like taking out garbage and setting up the garbage bins for pickup, and who can be detail oriented but also can be patient and is ok with sometimes needing to stop and work at a pace that the client can handle as the client also prefers to do what they can when they have the safety of another person being there with them so that they can push themselves more than would be safe when alone, also some of the time literally just being their as a safety precaution for instance when the client is bathing or doing other tasks to be able to call 911 if the client were to fall and be unable to pless their emergency alert button, so you could even bring a book or a craft or Homework to work on during those portions of time
Also while this job will require a background check that is primarily to make sure an applicant has not been convicted of things like elder abuse or child abuse or domestic violence type offenses. . If you have a history of criminal charges in the past but are not abusive AND you are honest about it when applying the it will not count against you when applying for this job.
You do need to have a reliable form of transportation, because you will need to pick up groceries and run errands.
If you have a car there IS a parking spot for you to park in while working with the client
Also this listed pay rate is the minimum you could be paid You would need to go through the hiring process with granite state independent living and if you wanted they could find more clients for you if you wanted to work more hours than The hours per week that my benefits will cover for me.
If you end up enjoying this type of work and do well with this client then down the road you could also pick up extra hours with other clients through the same company Paychecks are paid out every 2 weeks.
If you are hired and work well for this client and would like to work more hours you would be able to sign on with the company for additional hours with other clients.
