The Inn at Hancock is New Hampshire's oldest continuously operating country inn and tavern. Founded circa 1789, the Inn has been the subject to a 2-year historic $7.5M restoration and property investment. Our luxury country inn offers guests accommodations in 15 guest suites as well as four distinct dining offerings adorned in traditional bespoke decor and period antique furnishings.
We are recruiting and hiring now for a May start, BOTH full-time and part-time roles.
The Line Cook is responsible for executing recipes and menu items with direction from the Executive Chef and the Sous Chef. The essence of this role is total commitment to both high quality service and excellence within the restaurant environment and requires a skilled professional with restaurant experience.
The ideal candidate for Line Cook is steady and efficient, produces consistent quality dishes and components in rapid fashion, and stays calm and focused under pressure.
Responsibilities include:
Preparation and execution of menu items for dining outlets and room service
Setting up and stocking their station/s with all necessary supplies and ingredients to execute menu items completely and efficiently
Following F&B programs to reduce costs and minimize food waste while maintaining high quality of dining experience
Assures the correct appearance, cleanliness and safety of restaurant areas, equipment and fixtures; checks the maintenance of all equipment in the kitchen and storage areas and reports deficiencies and maintenance concerns to the Executive Chef or Food & Beverage Manager
Complying with all nutrition, food safety and sanitation requirements
Confirming that all kitchen cleaning procedures have been completed at end of the day
Assisting Head Chef and Sous Chef with any kitchen tasks, as required
Be familiar with all inn services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
Be completely knowledgeable about the property and its layout, including all guest accommodations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

Extensive culinary experience in a cook role
Ability to prepare finished dishes, sauces and menu components
Strong knowledge of food quality and ability to spot sub-par quality ingredients
Knowledge of kitchen software systems preferred
Accuracy, speed and consistency in food preparation
Knowledge of current health code and safety protocol and OSHA requirements
Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and ability to successfully coordinate multiple priorities simultaneously
Education and Experience:
High school graduate, GED, or equivalent training certificate
Previous prep or line cook experience required
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in high-end restaurant environment
ServSafe (or equivalent food safety) training preferred
