The Seacoast Repertory Theatre in Portsmouth, New Hampshire is looking for a Bar Manager for immediate start.

This position would be required Thursday andFriday evenings (after 6pm) with two 8-10 hour shifts on Saturdays & Sundays. The Rep is closed Monday, Tuesday & most Wednesdays. The Rep is closed for 6 "change over" weeks thru the year where Bar Manager would not be required.

The Bar Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of the concessions and bar of the theatre to ensure friendly, welcoming, professional, efficient and accessible service to all patrons.This position is responsible for ordering and maintaining the concessions and liquor inventory. This position requires a professional public image through cleanliness, general atmosphere and a well-organized and executed patron experience. This position reports to the Artistic Directors and works closely with Box Office Staff, The Head Usher and Production Teams. This position is expected to adhere to a front of house dress code. This is a part time position with an expected average of 25-30 hrs/week with the exception of the 6 sporadic weeks thru the year where the theatre is dark.

KEY JOB DUTIES OF THE BAR MANAGER

Assure sufficient stock of concessions, snacks, drinks, alcohol, etc.

Manage bar & concessions budgets.

Ensure coverage/management of bartending and concession duties at all

events at the theatre.

Provide an excellent patron experience.

Point of contact for health department and liquor departmentinspections and licenses.

Assist Head Usher in handling problematic, drunk or unruly patrons in a professional and safe way

Collaborate with Stage Management, Head Usher & Box Office Staff to ensure the proper start time of a production or event.

Implement environmentally sustainable initiatives

Communicate with leadership and theatre management of any Bar/Concessions issues.

Ensure that quality & safety standards are maintained and regularly improved.

Maintain current licenses & vendor contracts/relationships

Set business objectives and cultivate vendor relationships that enhance profit and enhance the customer experience

Ensuring the utmost cleanliness standards in and around the bar & concessions areas.

Training staff and volunteers to provide excellent & expedient customer service.
