Toddler Teacher
Description
First Start Children’s Center is looking for a full-time toddler room teacher for our busy childcare center. The toddler teacher works with a teaching team to provide a warm, nurturing, safe and loving environment that promotes the development of the whole child; building a foundation for social and emotional competence. Teachers are active participants with the children facilitating communication, collaboration, and problem solving while providing opportunities for the children to explore their environment, interests and build their knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
Duties
Follow all state regulations and center policies.
Complete the NH Heath and Safety training program through ProSolutions and CPR and First Aid training within the first 90 days of employment.
Complete 18 hours of professional development annually.
Actively supervise and encourage the children to participate in planned activities and bring any questions or illness or injury concerns to the Director.
Develop a positive rapport with children, co-teachers and families.
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the child care space and materials.
Role model manners, hygiene, respect, empathy, problem solving, sharing and encourage independence.
Requirements
Be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Meet the education and experience requirement to be qualified as an Associate or Lead Teacher according to the New Hampshire Child Care Licensing Unit
Nice To Haves
Previous experience in an early childhood environment.
A minimum of 9 credits in related coursework including at least one 3 credit course in child or human development.
