Structural Engineer

AECOM is hiring a Structural Engineer for our Buildings+Places practice. This position will be located in our downtown NYC office.Responsibilities:Performs structural design for buildings and transportation structures and prepares related engineering calculations and structural modeling. Building types may include but are not limited to commercial buildings, government buildings, rail stations and airport terminals.Prepares structural analysis and Revit BIM models for various structures and coordinates with different disciplines 3D models.Provides technical or operational guidance to graduate engineersProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertiseParticipates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverablesPerforms quality control review of design calculations or drawingsPrepares technical specification sectionsProvides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirementsMay conduct peer reviews and make technical presentationsPerforms work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervisionProposes approach to solve new problems encounteredCoordinates with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.Signs off and approves their own workAECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture.  With a range of expertise from strategy and design through project realization, we create better outcomes to grow economies, protect natural systems, conserve natural resources, make societies more equitable, and connect and engage people through innovative, sustainable design solutions.  Our teams have worked on signature projects such as the London 2012 Olympic Park and Legacy Framework, to the new plan for the LA2028 Olympics, to industrial facilities for GE and Rolls-Royce, to headquarters and workplaces for NASA, Unilever, Sony Music, DirecTV, Box, Inc., and many Fortune 500 companies.
