Architect

AECOM seeks a Licensed Architect for our growing NY Metro Building + Places team to work on interesting and challenging projects for a variety of clients.This Architect position will be responsible for the following:Prepare program analysis, life safety code analysis, concept designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic design, design development, construction drawings, and project specifications.Prepare, review, and approve drawings as required.Coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating in an assigned project.Assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.Review and approve conceptual designs.Assist in the development of new architectural methods and techniques.Provide support coordinating project design, technical and administrative activities in the execution of transit, aviation, and other public and private sector projects.Work with the multidiscipline teams of architects, engineers, and consultants to schedule, implement, and coordinate all aspects of architectural services from design to construction documents in compliance with office and client standards.Lead and coordinate architectural work with engineering disciplines both in-house and with consultants.Attend client presentation and progress meetings to communicate design intent and technical details.Perform project setup, drawing layout, modifications, and reviews within Revit.Assist in the preparation of work effort estimates of architectural services for proposals.Provide regular updates with Project Managers for schedule and budget compliance for architectural services.Mentor junior Architects and Designers, and be responsible for determining technical objectives of project assignments in conjunction with project management and design principles.Develop solutions to complex technical problems.Review construction documents for compliance with client/project requirements.
