Senior Supplier Quality EngineerMerrimack, NH (Boston, MA area)12+ mo contract$55-$60/hr5-10 year

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Fortune 500 client seeks one (1) Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer for a 12+ month period contract to drive customer satisfaction and continual improvement. This role will require the qualified candidate to conduct monitoring, managing, and resolving of issues related to Supplier quality performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Conduct Source Inspections, Incoming Receiving Inspections, and Material Surveys to ensure internal and external customers quality and technical requirements are adhered to by SuppliersReview Supplier First Article Inspections (FAI's) IAW AS9102Assign, monitor and close Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR's) while ensuring appropriate Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) has been identified and addressed to reduce and/or eliminate future occurrenceIssue and disposition Non-Conforming Material Reports (Client's) in support of the Material Review Board (MRB)Initiate and participate in Continuous Improvement activities to improve Supplier performance, productivity, processes, and costsMonitor quality performance metrics for assigned Suppliers and develop Return to Green PlansLead activities such as Supplier qualification, Supplier development, and Supplier Zero Defect Programs (ZDP)Ensure compliance of suppliers through leading and participating in supplier audits and identify and manage Supplier risksCoach Supplier Operations Team members on Quality Management System requirementsParticipate in Material Review Board (MRB) activitiesReviews internal Supplier Quality Assurance Procedures to ensure compliance with customer and/or government requirementsConvey key characteristics/requirements to suppliers and obtain agreement on methodology for process controls of fabrication/manufacturing to ensure the highest probability of receiving a defect free product on timeDevelop, qualify and approve Nondestructive Testing (NDT) procedures, establish techniques, interpret codes and standards, and be capable of training and examining Level I personnelCompletes tasks with no Manager oversightProvide mentoring to assigned SuppliersProvide mentoring to team membersCollaborate with internal ESA/ESL organizations to identify solutionsConsulting Relationships

QUALIFICATIONS

Master's Degree PreferredBachelor's Degree RequiredSpecific Degree Field: Engineering/Manufacturing or equivalent Technical degreeCertifications/Licenses:

Preferred: Certified Internal Auditor

ASQ-CQE, CQA, or equivalent

(Lean) Six Sigma Black Belt

NDT Level II Certification

Ability to travel up to 40% - U.S. PassportAbility to read Blue Prints, Engineering DrawingsStrong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication (Technical Writing experience a plus)Problem solving, analytical, and process improvement skills / experienceDemonstrated knowledge of quality management methodologies such as:Six-sigma, Lean, KaizenAdvanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)Control PlansQuality Management Systems per ISO-9001/AS-9100Electrical Team Members:

Knowledge of:J-STD 001, IPC-600, IPC-610, IPC-620Electronic Assembly manufacturing to include Printed Circuit BoardsCable and Harness manufacturingMechanical Team Members:
