The day program coordinator (DPC) is a pivotal position at the day program site an in the community. They are primarily responsible for the coordination of safety, health care/nutrition, scheduling, document creation, site visits, supervision of staff in the absence of the program director, and general operations. In these areas, the DPC should be involved directly in all program planning, assessments, and implementation. The DPC reports to the Program Director and also maintains direct communication with the Nurse, Consumer Benefits Coordinator, Health Service Coordinator, and maintenance staff. The DPC will also assist in direct training, follow up, and coaching with program staff in the aforementioned areas, keeping the Program Director informed. The DPC is responsible for coordinating a variety of services including, but not limited to; individual finances, community integration, program implementation, family involvement, and education/vocational programs. The DPC is required to assist the Program Director in maintaining consistency in programming, individual care, and communication with staff and interdisciplinary team members. The DPC also carries out the responsibilities and duties of the DSP during all direct care shifts in which they work.
