Associate's degree

0-3 years of experience

Physical Therapy Assistant – NH

CPR certified within 90 days

Major Responsibilities:

Confers with members of physical therapy staff and other health team members; individually and in conference; to exchange; discuss patient information for planning; modifying and coordinating treatment program and goals.

Observes patients during treatments and compiles data on patients' responses to treatments and progress and reports orally or in writing to Physical Therapist.

Records treatment; response and progress in patient's chart or enters information into the computer.

Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home as appropriate.

Orients; instructs and supervises ancillary personnel.

Performs clerical duties such as taking inventory; ordering supplies; answering telephone; taking messages and filling out forms.

Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs; current literature; inservices; meetings; workshops and provides training to Rehab staff; hospital and community groups.

Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patient and family in accordance with hospital standards including assurance and support of patient's rights and responsibilities.
