Yard Equipment Operator

Lift, move, and position steel components for painting and shipping, performing such work consistent with corporate mission, values and departmental financial objectives. The Yard Equipment Operator has full operational knowledge of all primary pieces of equipment in the yard area.Essential Functions:Observe load hookup and determine safety of load handling.Manipulate vehicle controls to regulate speed and direction and movement of materials.Maintain traceability of materials using iPad operating system and hard copies.Use hoisting attachments such as hook, sling, or bucket as load requires.Clean and maintain vehicle mechanisms.Inspect vehicle for defective parts and notify supervisor of defects or malfunctions.Build and band loads for shipment.Maintain control wand.Engage directly in daily production operations and anticipate production problems.Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including, but not limited to, cleaning, trash/scrap removal, and other production related jobs.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating effectively with customers, coworkers, clients and supervisors.Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of area.Work in a safe and conscientious manner.
