Description Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Purchasing Agent. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for leading the purchasing department. Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills are required for this Purchasing Agent position. Monitor inventory levels and determine purchase needs
Request cost proposals and negotiate contracts and prices
Look into supplier profiles and examine offers
Prepare and present detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures, etc.)
Research and compare suppliers, goods, and services
Manage records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments
Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts
Prepare and process purchase orders
Requirements
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field preferred
Strong documentation and organization skills
Skilled in CRM, ERP, and inventory management software programs
Previous experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar position
High school diploma or GED required
Excellent research and analytical skills
