The role includes generating population projections and policy simulations for budget preparation and legislative activities and performing legal and correctional analysis on prison admissions and releases. Responsibilities include analyzing 10-year projections, preparing prison plan reports, and composing budgeted population projections. The position also requires tracking and analyzing newly introduced legislation, preparing fiscal notes, and identifying the impacts of proposed laws and policies. Providing technical assistance to public officials and law enforcement agencies, preparing statistical summaries, and conducting biennial surveys are also key duties.
