Posted 03/11/2024 Close Date: 03/25/2024 Recruiter: ADRIAN FOSTER Phone: (702)486-2911 Email: [email protected] Applications accepted for another 13 Days 23 Hrs 1 Mins The PositionAgriculturists perform a variety of inspections and enforcement duties related to regulated agricultural programs such as seed testing and seed certification, commercial pest control licensing, commercial nursery inspection and licensing, vertebrate pest control, noxious weeds, insect and plant disease quarantine surveys, and commercial feed and agricultural product grading.Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.The Agriculturist I position is located in Sparks, NV and supports the Division of Plant Health and Compliance. Under direct supervision, the incumbent will participate in weed surveys and report infestations of noxious weeds; assist in noxious weed identification, developing control programs and provide notifications to landowners on effective methods of control. The incumbent will also record survey data and recommend control procedures in order to comply with the provisions of the Nevada Revised Statutes; perform inspections at agricultural, gravel pit and compost sites identifying noxious and prohibited weeds for weed free certification; assist with biological control agent site selection, releases, and monitoring; provide outreach to the public and professionals during workshops, seminars and trainings.
