Description If you are eager to start a career as an Accounting Clerk, Robert Half is searching for an experienced candidate to fill the position for a well-respected company in the construction/contractor industry. In this position, you will be responsible for playing an essential role in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), general data entry, and matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers. This is a long-term contract / temporary to hire position located in the Sparks, Nevada area.Your responsibilities in this role
Produce statements and reports that require utilization of a wide range of sources
Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
Help Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
Broadcast financial information to journals and ledgers
Remedy discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
Work with Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance, and process daily invoices/credit
Arrange documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes Requirements - Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
2+ years of relevant experience
Prior experience in Spreadsheet and ERP system
Billing experience desired
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience required
Deep understanding of construction
AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
Experience with high volume data entry
