Head Coach
High Altitude Truckee is seeking a head coach to join the coaching team for youth and adult programs. The Head Coach plays a crucial role in collaborating with other head coaches, head route setter and management in managing and developing the gym’s climbing programs, coaching staff and ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our youth teams. This position requires a deep passion for climbing, exceptional coaching skills and the ability to inspire, motivate and mentor climbers of all ages and abilities.
Head Coach will assist in all programs, clinics, private lessons, groups/events, and the like.
Part Time
Must be available for team practices: Mon/Wed/Thurs from 4-6:30pm, occasional Tues/Fri 3:30-6:30, and additional weekday and weekend hours for events and clinics.
Coaches hours:
Monday's/Wednesday's/Thursday's 4pm-6:30pm Advanced Teams
Tuesday's and Friday's 3:30-6:30pm beginner and intermediate teams.
Additional hours for private lessons, group lessons, clinics and events.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise climbers at practices
Motivate climbers and empower them to reach new heights
Maintain an encouraging, yet competitive environment
Attend Competitions with the team, travel is a must for all scheduled competitions
Communicate climbers’ progression with Programs Director, Climbers and Parents
Coordinate with Programs Director and management to ensure team needs are being met
Work closely with other all teams and coaches

Qualifications
Must have a demonstrated passion for climbing and fitness on a personal basis
Experience Coaching an individual/team sport at the Youth Level
Ability to embody High Altitude Fitness core values and manage desired cultures within youth teams
Desire and ability to lead clinics, groups and events and private lessons
Additional Experience:
Active membership with USAC as a Level 2 Coach
Understands USAC policies and procedures
Experience with USAC competitions
Maintain a current CPR and First Aid certification
Ability to coach Mon/Wed/Thurs 4-6:30pm and additional hours for privates and events/groups
4+ years of climbing experience
Ability to climb V6 and 5.12 preferred but not required
