Front Desk Supervisor

The Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for assisting the organization and management in administration and supervision of the front desk team at High Altitude Truckee, providing excellent customer service and overseeing daily activities of our organization.

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: hiring, training, problem solving, member retention, membership sales, equipment inventory and maintenance, customer service, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Applicant must be available to pass a lead climbing and lead test.

The Front Desk Supervisor will collaborate with the General Manager and Department Managers. This position will require varied hours at front desk of 35-38 hours per week. All shifts will be required at various times. Work week: Sunday-Thurs

Shifts: Sunday 10:30am-5:30pm, Monday-Thurs 12:30-7:30pm

Applicant must have flexible schedule to meet staffing needs.

1.Essential Functions:

- Great members and guests in a prompt and courteous manner

- Mentor staff

- Staff training and supervision

- Implement, educate and train staff and assist with patron orientations

- Communicate regularly with management about membership sales, supply ordering and operational functions of the organization

- Delegate work to appropriate employee

- Communicate with front desk team

- Check members in and assist guests

- Develop and maintain relationships with members to ensure customer satisfaction and retention

- Monitor the climbing gym and proctor auto belay, top rope, lead climbing belay tests

2.Administration

- Oversee membership issues, member profiles, membership sales

- Assist with customer relations as needed

- Correspond to emails/inquiries

- Maintains work areas and identifies safety hazards

- Delegate work to appropriate employee

- Answer phone calls and handle member inquiries

3. Technical:

- Inspection of equipment for preventive servicing and repairs

- Inspect cleanliness of facility and report problems

- Inspect facility for safety

4. Other

- Perform other duties as assigned or needed

Qualifications: -Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required, high school or equivalent education level, previous management experience desired.

- Strong computer skills required with MS Office software and basic website capabilities

- Certification by American Red Cross in Adult CPR and First Aid required

- Must be a self-starter and demonstrate initiative when unsupervised

- Strong oral and written communication skills required

- Must be capable of working collegially with a diverse group of staff, members and visitors on a daily basis.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Prior customer service and/or front desk management experience and interest in fitness. Rock climbing experience required. Must be able to pass a lead belay test.
