We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Ophthalmic Technician / Optician to join our team. This multifaceted role blends clinical support, eyewear styling, and patient interaction. You will assist the optometrist with scribing and pre-testing, provide personalized eyewear recommendations, and help guide patients through their eye care journey.
Responsibilities:
Greet and prepare patients for their eye exams
Perform pre-testing procedures including visual acuity, tonometry, and imaging
Scribe exam notes and assist the optometrist during patient consultations
Educate patients about eye health, treatments, and contact lens care
Guide patients through frame selection and lens options
Take accurate measurements and ensure proper frame adjustments and fittings
Assist with eyewear orders, insurance verification, and dispensing
Maintain clean, organized clinical and optical areas
Qualifications:
Previous experience as an ophthalmic technician or optician preferred, but not required.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), scribing, and pre-testing equipment
Strong customer service and communication skills
Detail-oriented with a passion for helping people
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Certification (ABO, CPO, or NCLE) is a plus, but not required
