We are a small ecommerce company specializing in manufacturing pet foods for small pets. We are accepting applications for a warehouse manufacturing associate who will be responsible for mixing and packaging our recipes.
This position is part-time (24 hours a week), in-person in Sparks, Nevada. It involves 6 hour shifts scheduled some time between 8 am and 3pm part time.
A typical day involves:
Mixing, and packaging inventory
Counting inventory
Cleaning up workspace and warehouse
Recording inventory levels
Most times you will be working on your own. You can listen to music or podcasts while working.
Benefits:
During the summer we follow bank holidays. Otherwise we work each week.
During the school year we follow the Washoe ISD calendar. This means during the school year if the schools aren’t open for students then we aren’t open for work.
Holidays and breaks are scheduled unpaid days off.
Paid Snow Days/Smoke Days.
Essential Functions:
Receive Inventory: Inspect for quality issues, receive and organize in warehouse
Mixing and Kitting: Read recipe and add ingredients to mixer by hand
Packaging: Add manufactured goods to packaging.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
This job can be BORING - it's repetitive. It's not very interesting. Sure, you can listen to music or podcasts while doing it but at the end of the day it's boring. You have to be able to be cool within the boring repetitive nature of the job. You have to look for ways to do it well because while it can be boring, it is still important.
Lift 40-50 pounds several times a week with the vast majority of lifting being less than 10 pounds.
Speak, write and read in English
Must be able to pass a background check
Perform math at an intermediate level (multiplication, division, fractions, etc.)
Work with allergens, such as soy, milk, nuts, seeds, flowers, etc.
Accuracy and attention to detail
Demonstrate range-of-motion, strength, and physical stamina needed to safely perform the job in fast-paced work environment.
Remain alert to safety hazards, maintain attention to stay on task, manage time effectively, and work independently to complete assigned tasks.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Warehouse experience helpful but not required
Food manufacturing experience would be helpful, but not required
Previous experience lifting 55 lbs. is preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel,
