Local Truckee based excavation company hiring for a labor position
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the setup and preparation of excavation sites by clearing debris, marking boundaries, and securing necessary equipment.
- Operate hand and power tools, such as shovels, picks, jackhammers, and compactors, to excavate and prepare sites for construction.
- Dig trenches, ditches, and foundations according to project specifications and blueprints.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from trucks and transport them to and from the worksite.
- Perform manual labor tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving heavy objects and materials.
- Assist equipment operators in maneuvering machinery and vehicles safely around the worksite.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including proper disposal of waste materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in excavation, construction, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physical labor and work in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools commonly used in excavation work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of construction plans and blueprints is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) regularly
- Stamina to perform repetitive tasks and work long hours in outdoor environments
- Agility to maneuver on uneven terrain and in confined spaces
- Physical dexterity to operate hand and power tools safely
