Universal Site Services is one of the oldest and most reliable day porter service companies on the West Coast. Our on-site day porters ensure your property is well maintained and kept detail clean. We address the various incidentals that occur during working hours without you having to think about it. Our uniformed teams of professionals are friendly and courteous to the tenants and patrons of your facility. We were founded on the principles of cleanliness and the importance it plays on the choices consumers make. We take pride in our reputation for superior customer service, our attention to detail and how the work we do directly affects our client’s reputation and success. We offer additional services as well: Parking Lot Sweeping, Commercial Pressure Washing, Graffiti Removal, Landscaping, and Property Maintenance.

We are looking for Janitorial/Day Porters to work in the Reno area and surrounding areas. We have a full-time and a part-time position. Both positions start at $18.00/hour; must be able to work mornings or afternoons, have a current NV drivers license. A company vehicle may be provided, but must be able to use own vehicles when necessary. Mileage will be reimbursed.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Day Porter will perform general cleanup work on properties assigned and directed to work on each day. Day porter will work in a safe like manner to have the buildings, grounds amenities, and common areas of the property meet the contractual standards for cleanliness, appearance per the task list provided.

The position requires a flexible schedule that includes weekends. Overtime may be required on occasion, but it must be approved by the supervisor before being worked.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 Ensure all duties and responsibilities are performed safely and promptly.

 Attend scheduled locations on time, utilizing reliable transportation when necessary.

 Maintain accurate timecard records by clocking in, clocking out for lunch, clocking back in after lunch, and clocking out at the end of each shift. In case of any issues, promptly contact your direct supervisor/manager on the same day to ensure timecard accuracy according to the scheduled hours.

 Demonstrate the ability to comprehend and follow instructions provided, including those giv-en over text and email communications.

 Follow supervisor/manager instructions to send required photos for each site as instructed.

 Safely handle various cleaning supplies and tools.

 Manage inventory of cleaning tools and supplies, using the USS Bamboo HR profile to elec-tronically request tools and supplies. Maintain Safety Data Sheets for all cleaning supplies and keep them readily available.

 Complete necessary on-site paperwork and reports as requested by clients or when needed.

 Treat customers, patrons, and visitors at serviced sites with respect and maintain a profes-sional demeanor.

 Contact your direct manager immediately in case of any extraordinary events or the discovery of hazards or liabilities on site.

 Take responsibility for the cleanliness, appearance, and maintenance of assigned equipment and tools, including company vehicles if applicable.

 Provide advance notification to the supervisor when unable to attend or be on time for a scheduled shift, at least four hours before the scheduled start time.

 Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of any company vehicle used by the Day Porter to document the integrity, safety, and functionality of all vehicle components. Report any issues or maintenance needs promptly.

 Actively participate in employee meetings and safety meetings as scheduled.

PROPERTY & BUILDING MAINTENANCE (AS REQUIRED)

 Review and address dispatched or assigned work orders.

 Address customer-driven concerns or complaints promptly.

 Assist in the maintenance of grounds, planter beds, common areas, and amenity areas by collect-ing trash and debris.

 Empty and reline trash receptacles.

 Clean and sanitize trash lids.

 Utilize a backpack blower, where applicable, to blow parking lots in coordination with sweeper operators.

 Hand sweep and clean corners in both parking lots and walkways.

 Thoroughly clean around bumper stops and storm drains.

 Remove any broken glass found in common areas on the property.

 Conduct regular patrols of walkways to ensure no cigarette butts or other debris are present in the joints.

 Preserve the property's curb appeal by cleaning parking lots, landscape areas, and common are-as.

 Remove spider webs reachable with provided tools around buildings.

 Perform general cleaning tasks, including cleaning window mullions, exterior ledges, newspaper racks, mailboxes, and benches as necessary.

 Clean and sanitize handrails, doors, windows, and door handles.

 Maintain proper record-keeping by documenting photos, site inspection timeline, and daily sum-maries.

 Handpick litter visible on the property to ensure cleanliness.

 Collect trash in and around the dumpster enclosure, sweep the enclosure to maintain cleanliness, and ensure applicable enclosure doors are closed and locked.

 Remove small graffiti tags using spray (where applicable) and remove stickers seen on property.

 Vacuum carpets and sweep/mop walkways and floors.

 Report instances of tenants causing unnecessary debris accumulation in trash enclosures or com-mon areas.

 Perform cleanup and hauling duties as needed, required, or dispatched.

 Perform other duties as assigned.

 Assist other personnel as requested or as needed.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITIES

Ability to arrive on time at multiple locations.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends if needed.

Preparedness to execute all duties and responsibilities in a safe and timely manner.

Ability to work in a physically demanding manner.

Proficiency in understanding and communicating in English and Spanish, including reading, writing (including text messages and emails). Bilingualism is preferred.

Capable of working with various technologies.

Able to handle a variety of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment safely.

Possesses quantitative and analytical skills, enabling problem-solving.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Body Position: The role may require prolonged periods of standing.

Climbing: You may need to climb as requested or when necessary.

Body Movements: The job involves carrying objects and utilizing your hands and arms.

Crouching, Kneeling, and Crawling: There may be instances where you need to crouch, kneel, or crawl to perform certain tasks. Senses: Your job will rely on your sight, speech, hearing, and sense of smell.

Lifting: Normal, up to 50 pounds, Occasionally, up to 75 pounds

Required to work in in various weather conditions.

Required to work to work on-site and travel from one location to another. Driving may be required to from site to site as part of your responsibilities.
