Nevada Equine Assisted Therapy is looking for a new Treatment TEAM member!

Are you looking for a unique position in the mental/behavioral health field? Do you have STRONG horse experience, enjoy being outdoors and helping people? Are you only looking for part time work? This might be the position for you!

Located just south of Reno, NEAT is looking for a new team member. NEAT provides social, emotional, behavioral growth & learning as well as behavioral/mental health interventions (PSR) through work with horses.

This employment opportunity will be a part time position – This is for our SATURDAY SHIFT from 9am to 1pm. We also see clients T-F afternoons (some shifts may be available) and we do small group work some weekday mornings, so there is flexible potential of up to 10 hours a week and substitute hours possible as well. Position will be providing Psycho-social Rehabilitation services (PSR) through work with horses. This will include planning, directing and documenting therapeutic equine sessions with a focus on each individual client’s treatment goals.

Applicants MUST meet the following requirements:

Have extensive hands-on horse experience including but not limited to:

Understanding horse and herd behavior

Proficiency with English and/or Western riding disciplines

Must be comfortable riding a variety of horse breeds and sizes

Show experience or teaching riding lessons experience is helpful

AND YOU MUST be a 'Qualified Mental Health Associate' OR be able to meet the qualifications to become a Nevada Medicaid Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) WE WILL WALK YOU THROUGH THE PROCESS! An individual can meet these requirements in a number of different ways:

Be a (or eligible to become) NV licensed RN, social worker or therapist OR, hold a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, human, social or behavioral sciences

Hold an Associate’s degree in early childhood education, human, social or behavioral sciences PLUS 4 years relevant professional experience providing direct services to individuals with mental health issues or comparable relevant experience in the field

Relevant education areas include: psychology, sociology, community health sciences, health ecology, public health, social work, human development and family studies, early childhood education, nursing, speech pathology and anthropology.

AND MUST BE ABLE TO WORK THE SATURDAY SHIFT with possible Flexible schedule for additional hours.

This is the perfect position for someone who only wants to work part time but loves horses and helping others.
