Wages range from $76,856.00 – $148,886.40 per year plus an additional $1,000.00 per month for the Tahoe Premium Assignment. All current Engineer vacancies are scheduled to receive a general wage increase of 4.0% in July 2024.

Senior Civil Engineer
Vacancies are in the following areas: Department of Public Works – Engineering Division.
Minimum qualifications include five years of increasingly responsible experience in engineering, including two years of supervisory responsibility; Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field; possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in an appropriate discipline as issued by the State of California.
Associate Civil Engineer
Vacancies are in the following areas: Department of Public Works – Engineering Division. Community Development Resource Agency – Engineering & Surveying Division.
Minimum qualification include Two years of responsible professional engineering experience performing duties similar to an Assistant Engineer with Placer County; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field.
Assistant Engineer
Vacancies are in the following areas: Department of Public Works – Engineering Division. Community Development Resource Agency - Engineering & Surveying Division.
Minimum qualifications include two years of responsible professional engineering experience performing duties similar to a Junior Engineer with Placer County; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field; possession of an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate. Note: Relevant, equivalent experience (performing the same or similar job requiring similar knowledge, skills, and abilities) may be substituted for the required education as determined by the Human Resources Department. Applicants receiving their degree outside the United States must submit proof of accreditation by a recognized evaluation agency.
Junior Engineer

Minimum qualifications include equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field or possession of a California Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate.
