Perenn is a fast-paced bakery, restaurant, grocery, and cafe dedicated to the craft of preparing and baking quality bread and viennoiserie. We are looking for individuals who are driven and self-motivated with a willingness to work in a team environment and maintain constant productive communication.
A day in the life of a Pastry Production Assistant might look like:
-Execute the morning bake: proof, bake and finish all pastries
-Prepare misc ingredients for both bread and pastries
-Laminate butter into various products
-Mix and/or mix various ingredients to create fillings for pastries
-Decorate pastries
-Recommend recipes to renew our menu
-Follow par lists
-Manage inventory and purchase food and supplies
-Use kitchen tools and equipment, including but not limited to mixers, dough sheeter, ovens etc.
-Periodically evaluate restaurant equipment for repairs and maintenance; schedules for service
-Keep a clean and hygienic workstation
-Receive, FIFO, and put away inventory
-Perform other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate for this position has the following qualities:
-Understanding of food safety practices
-Excellent time-management skills
-Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
-Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
-Flexibility to work early morning or swing shifts
-Certification from a culinary school is a plus
Physical Requirements:
-Prolonged periods of standing and walking
-Must be able to lift, balance, and to carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
