Position Overview

We’re seeking an experienced, energetic Line Cook to join our back-of-house team. You’ll prep,

cook, and plate dishes at your station, helping maintain Smoke Door’s high standards and

artisan execution.

Key Responsibilities:

● Set up and stock your cooking station—grill, sauté, pantry, or fry—each shift

● Prepare ingredients: chop, trim, mix, make sauces, and portion.

● Cook and assemble menu items per recipes and plating guidelines

● Communicate with servers and kitchen staff to synchronize plating for timely service

● Maintain impeccable cleanliness and sanitation in line with local food safety standards

● Assist with inventory, restocking, and closing duties.

● Adhere to proper food handling, storage, and rotation protocols

● Support teammates and embrace station flexibility during service.

Qualifications

Required:

● Minimum 1 year of professional line-cook experience (fine dining or high-volume

kitchens preferred)

● Strong knife skills and familiarity with grill, sauté, and fry techniques

● Solid knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper portion control.

● Ability to work swiftly under pressure and stay organized.

● Physical ability to stand long hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and work a flexible schedule

(evenings, weekends, holidays)

● Reliable team player with clear communication skills.

Preferred:

● Culinary school background or food-handling certification.

● Experience with Japanese cuisine or wood-fire cooking.

● Passion for detail, presentation, and consistency.

Work Schedule

● Part-time or full-time positions.

● Shift times: Lunch service on weekends only (10:30 am–2:30 pm) and dinner service

Saturday through Wednesday (2:00pm - 10:00pm)
