Hostess/ Cashier
Greets guests in person and by telephone using high standards of etiquette and customer service; provides seating in a timely manner. Responsible for handling cash register transactions.
Duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned).
Greets each guest in a prompt and courteous manner, displaying good manners and tact.
Seats guests as quickly as possible and ensures guests' comfort if there is a waiting period.
Provides menus as guest is seated, removes or adds extra place settings if necessary.
Displays a sincere desire to comply with all guest needs.
Answers telephones promptly, displaying a high degree of telephone etiquette. Offers information about restaurant (hours, directions, menu information).
Rotates server stations when seating guests; assists service staff in making certain that tables are cleaned and set properly; fills condiments as needed.
Accurately posts transactions on cash register and makes appropriate change.
Counts out cash drawer and ensures that monies are balanced.
Education/Experience
High School graduate or GED equivalent.
Prior money handling experience.
Previous experience in customer service oriented position.
Must communicate effectively in verbal and written English language.
High School level math. Adding and subtracting.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
Must have the ability to bend and reach throughout entire shift.
Must have the manual dexterity to write, grasp, operate register, count money.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
