Overview

Yuzu Sushi & Bar will be a new upscale-casual Japanese and Sushi restaurant accompanied by a craft cocktail bar. We are searching for a Bar Manager to help build and lead the bar program who shares our vision in developing unique, quality cocktails with attention to detail and consistency, and is passionate about experimenting with and creating different ingredients and flavors. Full disclosure - As a new establishment, it will take time to develop our customer base and reputation, so tips and bonuses will be unpredictable at first. You will be integral to setting the foundation for our future growth and success. In the future, we plan on offering various benefits to qualified employees such as 401K, health care, paid time off, and paid training and professional development, with certain benefits retroactively applied to qualified staff (including Bar Manager) who started prior to receiving these benefits. Salaried options will also be available in the future, if desired.

Compensation

- $20 per hour + tips + bonuses.

Minimum Requirements

- Have a positive attitude and maintain professionalism among colleagues and guests.

- 3+ years bar management/supervisory/lead experience.

- Have, or be able to obtain a Food Safety Manager Certification and Alcohol Awareness Training Card.

- Full-time availability, and the willingness to work overtime on rare occasions.

Job Responsibilities

- Perform/oversee all bartending duties (closing/opening duties, prep work, side work, cleaning, customer service, preparing and making drinks, etc).

- Develop cocktail ingredients/mixers (syrups, infusions, cordials, sodas, juices, etc).

- Develop and update the cocktail menu based on customer demand, seasonal ingredients, market trends, etc.

- Provide positive guest experience and resolve any guest concerns.

- Collaborate with the management team on company standards, systems, and practices.

- Uphold and enforce all company policies and rules, guidelines, and laws set forth by local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.

- Operate POS, handle all cash transactions, process credit card payments.

- Track, record, and analyze ingredient costs, pour costs, and other bar financial metrics; collaborate with the management team about pricing strategies.

- Track, record, and analyze inventory and prepare product order sheets.

- Assist with seeking and maintaining healthy relationships with our F&B reps and suppliers and become familiar with their products.

- Create and maintain scheduling for bar staff.

- Train and develop new bar staff.

- Lead by example! Be willing to help others when needed and conversely, always ask for help if needed.
