Warehouse Associate I Apply now » Date: Feb 1, 2024 Location: Reno, NV, US Company: Dorman Products JOB DESCRIPTION Work Location: varies Department: pti FLSA Status: Non-Exempt FTE Status: Full Time J ob title: Warehouse Associate I Reports to:Warehouse Supervisor Job Summary:As a Warehouse Associate Level 1, you will play a crucial role in our operations by efficiently managing the movement of driveline products within our warehouse. This position requires a strong emphasis on 6S principles, picking, packing, shipping, and proficiency in operating forklifts and other material moving equipment. We are looking for a team player who is passionate about continuous improvement and embraces a lean culture. Primary Duties (5-7 Key responsibilities)

6S Implementation : Implement and maintain 6S principles to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.

Picking and Packing : Accurately pick and pack products according to established procedures to meet customer orders and delivery deadlines.

Shipping : Prepare shipments by verifying order accuracy, packing driveline items securely, and coordinating with the shipping department to ensure timely dispatch.

Forklift Operation : Safely operate forklifts and other material moving equipment to transport driveline products within the warehouse.

Continuous Improvement : Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, providing feedback, and suggesting improvements to enhance overall warehouse efficiency.

Lean Culture : Embrace and contribute to a lean culture within the warehouse, identifying opportunities for waste reduction and process optimization.

Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.

Technology Utilization : Effectively use tablets, scanners, and computer Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to update inventory, track shipments, and ensure accurate order processing.

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Have good organizational, communication and math skills

Basic computer skills including internet and scanning systems

Physical Requirement : Must be able to properly lift, pack, stack and wrap up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Working Conditions : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to touch, grasp, handle and feel items. Noise level is usually moderate. Warehouse temperature may reach up to 90 degrees during the Summer months.

Education or experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent
