Job Description
High Altitude Truckee has openings for a Camp Counselor Instructor, this is a part time position with room to grow. We are seeking mature, energetic, punctual, and welcoming counselors for our summer rock climbing camps. Candidates must enjoy working with children and be auto-belay certified and/or top rope certified, we are willing to train.
Specific Responsibilities
Maintain a safe and organized learning environment
Help run camps and other related activities that keep kids engage and promote personal growth.
Teach effective climbing techniques along with proper spotting, knot-tying, belaying, top rope and auto belay
Communicate with parents on their child's progression
Lead sports games, and arts and crafts
Provide group supervision in the climbing gym and during activities
Communicate with parents on their child's progression
Follow program curriculum
Experience
Prior work with summer camps/youth clubs or other relevant coaching work, Outdoor/indoor climbing experience, CPR/First-Aid certified preferred.
