Position Overview:
The Concrete Finisher / Laborer plays a critical role in construction projects, responsible for preparing job sites, pouring, leveling, and finishing concrete to achieve high-quality results. This hands-on position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to operate various construction tools and equipment safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team-oriented environment, demonstrate reliability, and maintain a commitment to safety standards while delivering projects on time and to specifications.
Responsibilities:
Set forms and grade work areas for concrete placement.
Mix, pour, spread, smooth, level, and finish concrete surfaces, using tools like trowels, floats, screeds, and concrete vibrators.
Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces, patch holes, and finish joints.
Operate power tools and equipment such as saws, grinders, drills, compactors, and jackhammers.
Assist with job site preparations, including setting forms, installing rebar, and ensuring site readiness.
Adhere to project specifications and safety standards at all times.
Load and unload construction materials and perform site clean-up duties.
Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment, following OSHA guidelines and company safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher or Laborer, with hands-on expertise in concrete placement, finishing, and general labor tasks.
Knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, leveling, and finishing techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions.
Comfortable working outdoors and performing physical tasks, including lifting heavy materials and equipment.
Familiarity with power tools, equipment operation, and basic maintenance.
Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work consistently.
Commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork.
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs.) and work in varying weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain one.
CDL is a plus.
