The Maintenance and Handyman Specialist is responsible for the repair, upkeep, and general maintenance of the owners units at Orleans Square and his nearby property. This hands-on role requires expertise in plumbing, electrical, and general construction work, as well as proficiency with modern maintenance technologies. The ideal candidate is skilled in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and providing efficient solutions to ensure the units remain in excellent condition and work orders are handled efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Work Order Management.
Receive, prioritize, and complete maintenance work orders promptly.
Utilize maintenance management software to track tasks and updates.
General Maintenance and Repairs.
Perform repairs involving plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and general construction.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
Unit Inspections and Preventive Maintenance.
Document findings and address concerns proactively.
Unit Turnovers and Renovations.
Prepare units for turnovers, including painting, repairs, and renovations.
Technology and Reporting
Use maintenance software to log activities, submit reports, and communicate with the property management team.
Collaborate with external vendors for specialized maintenance and repairs.
Handle emergency repairs as needed, including nights or weekends.
Respond to urgent maintenance issues across properties in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in maintenance, handyman work. Apartment settings preferred.
Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general construction.
Comfortable using technology, including maintenance software for work orders.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
