JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for supporting the day-to-day clinic responsibilities of Nevada’s premier hand to shoulder center of excellence.
Our practice provides the most up to date techniques and procedures with a focused interest in the care and treatment of injuries and illnesses affecting the upper extremity from the hand to shoulder. We pride ourselves on accessibility to patients, insurance carriers, adjusters, and referring physicians. By giving each patient the time and attention required for their specific condition, we believe we can effectively render excellent care while listening to their concerns, issues, and addressing their questions.
This position works in coordination with our physicians, medical assistants, and front office specialists in enhancing the care team for optimal delivery of high quality orthopedic upper extremity care.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 1-year experience in orthopedics preferred
Minimum of 1-year experience working with Workers’ Compensation preferred
Medical Assisting Certificate required
2-5 years’ experience in a medical office setting preferred
High school education or GED equivalency
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Travel between two clinic sites
Greet all patients with a smile and friendly attitude
Checking patients in / out
Verifying insurance eligibility including initiation of prior authorization for surgery and/or medications if necessary
Scheduling, including rescheduling appointments, including urgent and routine visits
Answering phone calls, triaging to clinical teams
Timely routing of faxes and clinical documentation
Processing incoming / outgoing referrals
Assist physicians and team medical assistants in providing exceptional care
Assist with rooming patients, drawing up injections, scanning clinical documents, and further clinical responsibilities as determined by the practice
Consistently follow through with tasks and responsibilities without the need for reminders
Actively participate with the care team by providing reliable and proactive assistance
Further clinic support tasks as determined by practice administration
Further the mission of the practice by being a team player- always ready and willing to care for patients with all tasks given

Medical Coding - Knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and ICD-10 diagnostic coding.

Salary commensurate with experience
