Position Overview:
The Sous Chef assists in managing kitchen operations to ensure high-quality food preparation, presentation, and safety. The ideal candidate has solid culinary experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for creating exceptional dishes. This role requires adaptability, attention to detail, and effective team management.
Key Responsibilities:
-Preparing and prepping ingredients, sauces, and other essential items, while ensuring that every dish prepared meets the high-quality standards expected in our kitchen.
-Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to strict food safety guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen.
-Working collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure seamless operations, efficiently handling the fast-paced environment typical of wok cooking.
-Assisting with inventory management by keeping track of supplies and ingredients needed, and effectively communicating these needs to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked and ready for service.
Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen Operations: Work with our Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily kitchen activities, ensuring that food is prepared and presented according to company standards.
Team Supervision: Help manage, train, and mentor kitchen staff, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
Quality Control: Ensure food quality, presentation, and safety meet company and health regulations. Conduct regular checks on food preparation and storage.
Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control, including ordering supplies, managing stock levels, and minimizing food waste.
Menu Collaboration: help develop and update menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and new culinary trends.
Cost Management: Help monitor kitchen expenses, focusing on cost-effective practices and budget adherence.
Problem-Solving: Address kitchen-related issues such as equipment malfunctions, staff conflicts, and customer complaints, escalating as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education: Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume or fine-dining environment.
Skills: Strong culinary skills, including proficiency in various cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen management. Good communication and teamwork skills.
Attributes: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands. A creative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Baking skills
Wok cooking experience

Food Manager Certification
