Adult Day Healthcare Facility is seeking a full-time food service cook. This position requires a flexible and dependable person to provide daily meals and snacks to participants and staff.
A demonstrated passion for cooking and creativity is at the heart of this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares, cooks and serves healthy, appetizing meals for clients and staff
Orders food in accordance with organization’s budget requirements
Prepares special meals to meet dietary guidelines for clients
Dispenses appropriate portions of food to be served
Cleans kitchen, cooking equipment, utensils, cookware, etc.
Assists in maintaining and inventorying kitchen equipment
Assists in monitoring client satisfaction and preferences providing a client responsive food service program within the guidelines, capabilities and policies of the Center
Properly stores food and other supplies
Food Service Chef must be Serve-Safe Certified. This position involves working with a diverse population. Good customer service skills and the ability to work with a wide range of staff and senior clientele is required.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: Experience: Two years of food preparation experience (Healthcare system experience is preferred). Must be able to read, write and speak English.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Requires the ability to exert a moderate amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and to stoop and crouch; to operate a variety of kitchen tools; to serve food to clients and operate equipment used in performance of daily tasks.
EMPLOYER REQUIREMENTS: Must complete and pass a two-step TB test or have evidence of one within a twelve month period. Must complete fingerprint/background check and current physical as a condition of employment. A CURRENT NEVADA HEALTH CARD IS MANDATORY.
