Please connect Mehnaz for more details ([email protected] / 408-400-2295) JOB DESCRIPTION: The Executive Director of Data Engineering will provide strong leadership and management across data engineering teams. The incumbent will play a key role in strategizing, defining, and building our cloud data platform and making quality data available to enterprise stakeholder groups. This role will collaborate with cross functional teams and lead data engineering teams in managing, and overseeing the architecture, build and sustaining of the data platform. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define, develop and manage the ongoing development of the Enterprise Data Hub (EDH) data platform in Azure Cloud to ingest new data sources and provide data standardization as necessitated by business needs.
- Collaborate with the data product management and other teams to build high quality, performant solutions that ensure stakeholder groups have access to the data they need.
- Define a set of standard technologies & tools for the data platform, and drive the adoption, implementation and ongoing sustaining of the data platform.
- Work closely with Security, Infrastructure, and other teams to optimize the EDH data platform infrastructure performance and scalability.
- Ensure that all measures for data quality, data governance, security and compliance of data are adhered to and as defined by the enterprise security organization.
- Build and own the automation and monitoring frameworks that showcase reliable, accurate, easy-to-understand metrics and operational KPIs to stakeholders for data platform, data integration and data delivery performance.
- Create and maintain a work environment that promotes client service, teamwork, performance feedback, individual recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction ensuring quality hiring, training, and succession planning processes that encompass the company's diversity commitment.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field; or equivalent experience.
- Four (4) years of relevant experience in data solution delivery, managing engineering teams, and enterprise data solution delivery
- Expertise in a broad range of public cloud and other data technologies, including IaaS, PaaS, data integration, Data analytics platform
- Hands on experience in design, development and delivery of data engineering services
- 2+ years of experience with MSFT Azure Cloud and/or AWS
- Extensive experience developing and implementing analytical capabilities and applications using Azure Cloud and Big Data technologies
- Strong understanding of data related security and compliance mandates
- Expertise in various data integration and data engineering approaches
- Experience in a team practicing Combined Engineering/DevOps approach
