The Environmental Health, Safety, & Security (EHSS) Specialist provides professional guidance and support with the objective to add value to the business. EHSS Specialist will execute data collection, compilation and reporting in the related field. This role will assist in supporting the Distribution Center Manager in effectively managing the requirements set forth by governmental or company regulations, as well as assist in planning and implementing environmental, safety, health and security programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through collaboration with facility personnel of all levels.Responsibilities:Assist in planning and implementing environmental and safety policies, procedures and programs in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.Lead the facility to safety achievements with a focus on behavioral initiatives ensuring all established metrics are tracked.Maintain & complete data entry and analysis as necessary for Environmental Health, Safety and Security metrics and information. (OPUS, Assessment Scorecards, Training matrix, Critical 15 and Learning Teams)Identify areas of improvement in all areas of environmental, safety, health and security and create plans to execute the improvements.Provide training to associates and contractors on a variety of Environmental Health, Safety and Security topics.Inspect organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.Assist with the investigation of safety incidents and injuries and cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.Compile data necessary to aid in submitting environmental, safety and security reporting to regulatory agencies.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.  This includes hearing medical testing results, medical files, and personnel records as needed, etc.Maintain all environmental, safety and security records to include, but not limited to regulatory and training requirements.Ability to work in a collaborative team environmentMaintain chemical inventory & update SDS online system with current Safety Data Sheets (SDS)Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures and provide feedback to associates on corrective actions necessary.
