Health and Wellness corporation is looking to hire a
Database Engineer/Developer in Las Vegas, NV on a direct hire permanent basis. Remote options are available for out of state applicants Ideally the role would be onsite, but open to remote but that would require at least 1 week a quarter travel to onsite in Las Vegas. Azure is a must, Snowflake a plus.Looking for a someone with experience in building databricks and ETL. Will be 1 or 2 Data Engineers but the more senior person on the team, reporting to the DBA.We are looking for a Database Engineer/Developer to join our small but growing team of analytics experts. The candidate will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our databases and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data developer and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will support our software developers, database architects, and data analysts on data initiatives. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even helping re-design our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives. Responsibilities- Create and maintain data pipeline architecture
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet business requirements
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements
- Automate manual processes, optimize data delivery pipelines, and design infrastructure for scalability
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and Azure
- Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
- Keep our data separated and secure
- Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
- Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions nd identify opportunities for improvement
- Strong analytic skills related to working with datasets
- Some Experience with Snowflake is preferred
- Experience with Azure cloud offerings, including SQL, pipelines, data factories, and workflows.
- Experience with scripting languages·
- Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Five (5+) years of experience as a Data Engineer
- Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field, or who has equivalent work experience
