Description We are looking for a Controller to join our team in the Real Estate Property and Facilities Management industry in Las Vegas, Nevada. This role focuses on overseeing our accounting and financial operations, particularly in the realm of general contracting and development. The Controller will play a vital role in ensuring accurate cost allocation, budgeting, and reporting for our projects.Responsibilities: Supervise all aspects of the construction accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, construction draws, job cost reporting and budgeting and financial reporting. Develop and implement job costing systems tailored to the nuances of general contracting and development projects. Collaborate closely with project managers to establish and maintain project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and industry standards. Monitor project costs and variances, conducting in-depth analyses to identify budget issues and improve project efficiency. Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses pertaining to project performance, including comprehensive cost-to-complete assessments, revenue recognition, and project profitability assessments. Liaise with project managers and operational teams to facilitate timely and accurate invoicing and billing processes. Assist in the formulation of annual budgets and forecasts, leveraging insights derived from job costing data to inform financial projections and strategic decisions. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements, including GAAP and industry-specific guidelines. Lead the month-end and year-end close process, overseeing reconciliations, journal entries, and the preparation of financial statements. Establish key performance benchmarks and monitor ongoing performance against established metrics. Provide leadership and mentorship to accounting staff, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and excellence. Requirements Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry. Proven expertise in using Accounting Software Systems. Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services. Knowledge of DCAA regulations and requirements. Extensive experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions. Demonstrated ability to manage all Accounting Functions. Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Proficiency in Auditing procedures and practices. Experience in managing Budget Processes. Understanding of Job Cost calculations and implications. Experience in managing Commercial Construction Projects. Knowledge of Construction Accounting, Construction Cost, and Construction Loans. Experience with Construction Management. Familiarity with Construction Projects - Accounting. Experience in managing Month-end Close Activities. Ability to prepare Annual Financial Reporting, Financial Reporting, Internal Financial Reporting, and Monthly Financial Reporting.
