The Maintenance Technician 2 individually performs routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on equipment and the facility. This role will be responsible for repairs, installation, and maintenance of all site equipment. They will maintain site equipment to keep an operational status report to eliminate and reduce unplanned downtime. The focus will be on executing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program with packaging and treating equipment, detasseling equipment, harvest equipment, and overall site appearance. They will also be a key stakeholder in the site’s “Goal Zero” safety initiative.Accountabilities:Responsible for repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance of facilities.Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems, using tools and diagnostic equipment.Repair and replace defective equipment parts, duties may include replacing motors, welding, fabrication, supporting robotics repairs, belt splicing, and more.Perform equipment inspections as required during on/off peak seasons.Act as liaison between site and preferred vendors / contractors, such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing contractors.Provide accurate overview of repair costs and support repair calendar annually.Escalate equipment issues in a timely manner.Adherence to site specific permits when maintenance work is required in key areas (hot work, work from heights).Maintain site grounds (snow removal, lawn care, irrigation) in conjunction with site leadership team.Perform maintenance on site equipment during unplanned downtime.Support work orders to ensure prioritization and work completion.Help develop a standardized approach for adjustments and calibration of equipment andmachinery to optimal specifications and operation.Perform data entry of all maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and parts inventory within Asset Essentials.Continuously improve maintenance processes and procedures.Act as a member of the Site Safety Committee.Maintain compliance with site HSE protocols and Syngenta HSE policies and employee code of conduct.
