Job Summary
The Surgical Technician (non-certified) is responsible for functioning as a scrub person during operative and other invasive procedures. Follows established protocols for cleaning, decontaminating, preparing and packaging, disinfecting or sterilizing and storing medical and surgical supplies and equipment.
Education and/or Experience
Technical Degree required.
Graduate from a surgical technology program accredited through ARC/STSA in collaboration with the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
Graduate of a Nursing Program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Associates Degree preferred.
One to two years’ experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRST) – certification within six months of employment required.
Basic Life Support certification (BLS) within 30 days of employment required.
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) within one year of employment preferred.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, eight hour day shifts, PRN (as needed)
Occasional weekend on-call
Occasional holiday on-call
One to two on-call shifts required, every 30-60 days as needed in the department
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$22.00-$31.75
