Job Title: Experienced Dedicated Craftsperson

About Us:

Fortitude Painting is a growing residential painting contractor dedicated to delivering high-quality craftsmanship and exceptional customer service. We take pride in beautifying homes and exceeding our clients' expectations. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a motivated experienced painter to join our team.

How to Apply:

If you are interested in joining our team as an Experienced Dedicated Craftsperson, please call Jordan Frost at 402-707-8555. We look forward to hearing from you!

Job Description:

As a Craftsperson Painter at Fortitude Painting, you will work closely with and provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced painters when necessary. Your role will involve preparing surfaces, mixing paint, and applying coatings to various structures, including walls, ceilings, trim, and other interior surfaces. You will learn and implement our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on each project, lead crews, create project plans, and provide daily updates on project progress.

Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring proper storage and handling of materials and equipment, and adhering to all safety guidelines and regulations are crucial aspects of the job. Effective communication with clients to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction is also essential.

The Craft:

In both interior and exterior projects, you will learn and implement our SOPs to ensure efficient project management. Leading team members and providing daily project updates, including pictures and videos as needed, will be part of your responsibilities. Understanding the proper preparation requirements of surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, and other necessary methods, as well as applying paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to various surfaces, including walls, ceilings, doors, and cabinets, will be your primary tasks. You will utilize tools and equipment such as brushes, rollers, spray guns, and related items, select and use appropriate paints, coatings, and materials based on project requirements, and protect non-painted surfaces while repairing cracks and holes and applying filler as needed.

Preparing exterior projects requires protecting areas not being painted or stained with proper materials and working at heights, including on various ladders up to 40' extension ladders and on roofs while adhering to safety guidelines. Understanding the importance of weatherproofing and protecting exterior surfaces from the elements is also essential.

Responsibilities:

You will follow all of our proven Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adhere to the Core Values of Fortitude Painting: Integrity, Positivity, Consistency, Growth Mindset, Quality, and Fortitude. Working to the Fortitude standard in high heat/humidity, cold conditions, and during tight timelines is expected.

Requirements:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship are essential. You should have the ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Good physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, and lifting are necessary, as well as the ability to lift heavy objects, possibly 50-75 lbs. Reliable transportation to and from job sites and a willingness to work 40 hours per week with weekly pay provided are also required.

Benefits:

We offer the opportunity for hands-on training and skill development in a growing industry within a supportive work environment. Lunch breaks are 30 minutes or less and paid per day, equating to about 130 hours of paid time per year. After three months of employment, you will receive 40 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO). Pay and benefits are based on competency achievement and performance, with the possibility for quarterly raises based on attendance, project performance, and compliance with updates.

The Fine Print:

If you have made it this far, please send an email and answer this question: "Why painting? What about the trade keeps you showing up?" Then, leave your contact information so we can set up a phone interview.
