The Scoular Company in Omaha, Nebraska seeks Lead Systems Engineer.
At Scoular, the Lead Systems Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting transportation technology systems, including OTM and other legacy applications, to support transportation functions across the organization. In this position the individual is also responsible for analyzing business requirements, and using their observations to then design, develop, and implement transportation technology solutions. Specific duties for Lead Systems Engineer include: working with business stakeholders to define system requirements and identify gaps; designing technology solutions that meet transportation needs; developing tests and documentation activities that help ensure system standards; ensuring end to end connectivity of data and systems by collaborating with both internal and external teams to implement solutions and complete successful system integration; partnering with suppliers and technology providers to produce innovative solutions for complex business issues; continuously monitoring and evaluating transportation technologies through tests to identify areas for improvement; responding to system failures and performances by taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate the reoccurrence of problems through documentation; researching new technologies and evaluating the benefits and risks of implementing it in existing systems; and other duties as assigned. The employee may be stationed anywhere within the continental U.S., but will report to headquarters in Omaha. Nebraska.
Education: Master’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements: 2 years experience in the job offered or related occupation. Other special requirements include: 2 years of experience with PL/SQL, XML, or other software languages; 2 years of experience with Oracle Database, HP ALM, or other system organizational tools; 2 years of experience directly working with clients to build applications for industry specific needs; and 2 years of experience using technical expertise to troubleshoot technological issues and provide optimized solutions for system problems.
In lieu of a Master’s degree and 2 years of experience, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree (or the foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related position.
